Decisions...
Just came across this short poem by Piet Hein that details a very effective method to make decisions...
Whenever you're called on to make up your mind,
and you're hampered by not having any,
the best way to solve the dilemma, you'll find,
is simply by spinning a penny.
No - not so that chance shall decide the affair
while you're passively standing there moping;
but the moment the penny is up in the air,
you suddenly know what you're hoping
Whenever you're called on to make up your mind,
and you're hampered by not having any,
the best way to solve the dilemma, you'll find,
is simply by spinning a penny.
No - not so that chance shall decide the affair
while you're passively standing there moping;
but the moment the penny is up in the air,
you suddenly know what you're hoping

its tough to pull ur mind to make a judgement for something which somewhere u know u dont or u do want. but sure flipping the coin gets u somewhere. :).

but doesnt it happen so, that whatever be the result of the flip, you always feel you'd be better off doing the opposite?
and what if you're unsure about flipping the coin itself? :)

"but the moment the penny is up in the air,
you suddenly know what you're hoping"
and the moment the penny falls back on your palm, the "enlightenment" of a moment ago is dismissed by your mind as yet another misapprehension...
Aren't we better off not knowing what we want than knowing yet not acknowledging it?
